financial news

In recent months, the slew of financial institutions that have either collapsed or accepted U.S. gov’t bailout have always broke the news late Sunday night, and we all hear about it first thing Monday morning. Bear Stearns, Leehman Bros, AIG, for each of these we heard about them on a Monday morning. The latest, this morning, we heard about Citigroup.

Why is it always Sunday evening these things happen?

The people involved want to do their negotiating in stable environment this means doing it when the markets open.
