financial news
Hickdawg asked:

When I checked yesterday, a 30 year fixed was about 5.00%. Today it is around 5.375%! That’s a big move for one day, even if there was good financial news and the markets were up!!!

One Response to “Why did interest rates go up so high today?”

i’d start with “markets move up and down daily”, but i think you already know that. Additionally, whenever there is good news regarding the economy, there is always a danger that inflation will creep back into the news. Raising interest rates 3/8 of a point isn’t really all that out of the ordinary. Wait till there is some bad news (sadly, you probably won’t have to wait long) and rates will drop a bit.
