financial news
bjmarchini asked:

I reading the Time story on the top 25 people to blame. I agree with most including the consumers. I think there is another that was mysteriously omited….. the news media.

They covered everything this year like they would a snow storm. While it didn’t start the ball rolling, I think it seriously fueled its escalation in the minds of the people. I has had a serious impact on consumer spending. I remember seeing clips of old newscasts in the first era of the news where they would offer words of encouragement at the end if possible. Why don’t they do this now?

I guess it is because they say good stories or reports don’t sell. Well nothing sells now.

    Top 3 suits me better.

There’s practically no morality left in the media nowadays and they’d do, say and twist anything around to get a good story with a bombastic headline. The latest I read was something along the “The economy takes a nosedive” in regard to the consumer buying index dropping by less than 0.5%.

The media are numero uno to blame.

That is a crazy delusion. There are countries defaulting on their debts, where not even one person has ever read or heard of the Arkansas Pig Prodder’s Gazette or whatever alarmist publications you mean. There are countries going cap in hand to the IMF which do not even have a free media in any form. The Chinese economy is in trouble. The EU is full of defaulting banks, and yet today you can read about the strength and vitality of the magic ‘Euro’ currency in any French or German paper.

This is not ‘Global Warming’ - this is world wide and real: It will cost you money.
