Do you think the American people are prepared to what is coming with a Democratic victory in November?
Filed Under Financial News | 7 Comments
I have been listening to the financial people of the business news channel and most of them are painting a very gloomy picture if the Democrats win in November. I am 61 and my parents generation was the last generation to have seen real hard times. From my generation we have been spoiled. I wonder how we will react when we have to face economic conditions like those the my parents generation faced.

I mean, forget the cnbc and fox news propaganda, lets listen to alternative, independent media too! This for example is a funny looking dude with his two cents on the crisis.

There has been so much talk on the news about how horrible the economy is and the problems on wall street….But no one goes into detail about what the problems actually are, so how have you been effected by the government buyouts and other financial/economic news that has been occurring? Thanks!

Yahoo is so clearly better than Google - why do people like Google?
Filed Under Financial News | 3 Comments
On Yahoo, you get allsorts of content, including this answer site, financial info, news, sports, fantasy, maps, people search, etc. Yahoo saves me tons of money and is very helpful. When you log into Google all you get is a search engine…no news, no financial, nothing - its worthless - why do people like Google?

If Democrats were so sincere about financial reform then why are they the recipients from hedge fund donors?
Filed Under Financial News | 3 Comments
Why are they receiving such large donations from the same funds that caused financial meltdown?
According to an analysis done by the Center for Responsive Politics for ABC News, the five biggest hedge fund donors all gave almost all their donations to Democrats.

Since May was kinda crummy, in financial news they keep repeating ‘the old saying’ sell in may and go away. And now everyone is saying it. I was wondering if anyone knew the logic behind this though.

SURVEY: Why don’t you get your news from independent media instead of mainstream media?
Filed Under Financial News | 1 Comment
Is it because there is simply no pressing reason to change and use independent publications instead of mainstream ones? That is, they both give you the news and you’ve got no reason to change your habits.
Do you agree or disagree? Do you have any other reasons that you might get your news from mainstream publications instead of independent publications?
Maybe mainstream media is more trustworthy? Could this be because they have a financial stake in their reputation?

Why do the financial markets rise sharply on the news of government bailouts?
Filed Under Financial News | 1 Comment
We’ve seen this a few times over the past few years. This happened once again today. Except this time it was Greece. You would think the market would fall sharply because in the overall long term view, the markets are actually weakened by heavy government intervention. At least a libertarian would view it this way.
