The American people live in a repressive and corrupted regime with low wages, poor health and education services. Fraud, lies, financial and military scandal are in the news everyday. What are they waiting for?
Reading from the first 34 answer it seems that contentment with mediocrity and lack of ambition are two answers. It may be bad here but it is worst elsewhere so it’s ok. Some seems to have a good life, which I am sure they have, and prefer to turn a blind eye on what is going on in their country or are ready to condone anything just for the sake of patriotism. Come on… give me more.

I am looking for a firm specific news that effected its share prices big time?

This news event should be fairly recent (within 6 months). Also, I am going to need a lots of financial articles about the event…I would also like to know if the market is efficient , semi-strong efficient, weak-form efficient or inefficient…
Actually I dont know the company name. I was trying to find out if there is a company in past 6 months that had a big news event…and once I know the company and the news event I can do the research myself…I kinda need it now rather than waiting for a news to happen…

With this kind of news, how could you still trust our goverment?

“Washington - Republicans and Democrats sternly warned the FBI on Tuesday that it could lose its broad power to collect telephone, e-mail and financial records to hunt terrorists after revelations of widespread abuses of the authority detailed in a recent internal investigation.
Their threats came as the Justice Department’s chief watchdog, Glenn A. Fine, told the House Judiciary Committee that the FBI engaged in widespread and serious misuse of its authority in illegally collecting the information from Americans and foreigners through so-called national security letters.
If the FBI doesn’t move swiftly to correct the mistakes and problems revealed last week in Fine’s 130-page report, “you probably won’t have NSL authority,” said Rep. Dan Lungren (news, bio, voting record), R-Calif., a supporter of the power, referring to the data requests by their initials.
“From the attorney general on down, you should be ashamed of yourself,” said Rep. Darrel Issa.”
Still support Bush?
The source for this is the Associated Press…look for it yourself…
“From the attorney general on down, you should be ashamed of yourself,” said Rep. Darrell Issa (news, bio, voting record), R-Calif. “We stretched to try to give you the tools necessary to make America safe, and it is very, very clear that you’ve abused that trust.”
If Congress revokes some of the expansive law enforcement powers it granted in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks, Issa said, “America may be less safe, but the Constitution will be more secure, and it will be because of your failure to deal with this in a serious fashion.”
The FBI’s failure to establish sufficient controls or oversight for collecting the information constituted “serious and unacceptable” failures, Fine told the committee.
Democrats called Fine’s findings an example of how the Justice Department has used broad counterterrorism authorities to trample on privacy rights.
“This was a serious breach of trust,” said Rep. John Conyer
I have been accused by folks here in Yahoo Answers of being Anti-American, however it seems to me that sitting by doing nothing while watching our freedom slip away is truly anti-American. Question authority, because it’s treason to believe that the President is anything akin to “good.” Our rights are being abolished everyday in this country, the fabric that holds this country together is being ripped to shreds by CPS, the FBI, the CIA, the Whitehouse, the Federal Reserve, and the Justice system. All these arms are broken. You say you have nothing to hide? Think about that for a second. You may think you have nothing to hide, but you will someday, and it may be something as simple as your medical records. I see the big picture, and it is scary.
P.S. I am one of those hippies..

Does ESPN report on news from the sports world, or determine what that news is?

For instance, they tried to make Arena League Football a big deal when they were broadcasting it. I understand that it makes sense for them to promote whatever it is that they or ABC or Disney have a financial stake in, but are they deciding for us what the important stories are?

How far is America away from financial collapse due to Obamas fiscal mismanagement?
Filed Under Financial News | 11 Comments
In a newly released Fox News poll, 78% said they feared a U.S. financial collapse brought on by fiscal mismanagement. And by 3-to-1, respondents said the nation’s exploding federal debt was a more serious problem than terrorism.
Yes, it’s that serious.
Even before the $3 trillion ObamaCare plan was passed, the U.S. was trundling down the same road as Europe.
