News Release. Iraq’s financial free ride may end. Can this be true?

WASHINGTON - Iraq’s financial free ride may be over. After five years, Republicans and Democrats seem to have found common ground on at least one aspect of the war. From the fiercest war foes to the most steadfast Bush supporters, they are looking at Iraq’s surging oil income and saying Baghdad should start picking up the tab, particularly for rebuilding hospitals, roads, power lines and the rest of the shattered country.

I’m a finance major at a 4 year university and I’ve been trying to learn as much as possible about the news and investing. I’ve decided to buy a news publication and I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions between the Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg news? I’ve narrowed it down to these 2 but I know I wont have time to read both so I was hoping maybe someone could tell me which one they find most useful and interesting to read. Thank you for your help!

So, I keep reading in the news about this bank going under, or that bank being nationalized…. Britain, Germany, UK… it’s happening all over the world. But then I go out to Asda (Walmart if you’re from the US) and my life seems pretty much the same. I was just wondering how all this financial turmoil will actually affect me, either now or in the future. Any economists out there able to explain this in SIMPLE terms?
